It’s a fresh beginning for Jarrett Culver once again. Reporting from a team statement, the third-year man out of Texas Tech University signed a two-way contract with the Atlanta Hawks after the team waived Chaundee Brown Jr.
Three years ago, Culver was drafted sixth overall by Minnesota in the NBA draft. As a rookie, his talents seemed advantageous as he averaged 9.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game on 40.4 percent shooting from the field. Although, Culver faced an unfortunate falling out of favor after his rookie season, and Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns became the saviors and the future of Minnesota.
Minnesota finally traded off Culver to the Memphis Grizzlies for Juancho Hernangomez and Patrick Beverley. Culver averaged 3.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per game while shooting 37.8 percent from the field. He proved to be a fine defensive asset. Atlanta traded for Dejounte Murray to form a destructive two-way backcourt.
