Veteran player Danilo Gallinari signs a two-year deal with Boston Celtics worth $13.3 million. The soon to be 34 year old, had spent two seasons with Atlanta Hawks before moving to San Antonio Spurs at the end of June as part of the deal involving All-Star point guard Dejounte Murray. Later Spurs waived off the player before the $21.5M guarantee kicked in as part of his contract.
Boston thus had to wait out his contract period before signing a new contract with the forward. Gallinari managed an average of 11.7 points per game for Hawks in the past season which was his lowest record since the rookie season. But nonetheless, the player would add some depth to the Celtics squad that lost the 2022 NBA Finals to Golden State Warriors
