Markieff Morris from Kansas Jayhawks to join Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets will be Markieff Morris' new team as he continues his NBA career. Morris, a 32-year-old NBA veteran, has consented to sign a one-year contract. Morris played in just 17 games for the Miami Heat last year but still managed to score 7.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. With the Los Angeles Lakers, Morris won the NBA championship in 2019–20. In a career that has seen stints with the Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards, Oklahoma City Thunder, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat, he has participated in 50 playoff games.

Morris, who spent three seasons playing for KU alongside his brother Marcus Morris, had 13.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in his junior season (2010–11). In the 2011 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns selected him in the 13th overall choice.
