The New York Knicks are openly pursuing Utah Jazz's Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell has already been in contact with the Knicks lately, and the offseason is also a great time for him to finally land over there. After Rudy Gobert's barter to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Jazz has put Mitchell out on the market. However, the price is way too high for a player that has clearly struggled to command the Jazz to playoff success. The Jazz have reportedly sent 7 picks which turned out to be too many for the Knicks to give up. Nevertheless, New York still made an offer that fell short of Danny Ainge's expectations once again.
Heavy discussions are still hot between the teams, and the Knicks just have about enough assets to make things go their way. It is most likely that they will be able to strike a deal sooner than later. Now, the ball is completely in the Jazz's court.
