A maiden IPL hat-trick and MI looses another match

Harshal Patel’s maiden hat-trick annihilated Mumbai Indians batting lineup. Patel, the Purple cap holder handed another defeat to Rohit Sharma & Co with a four-wicket haul and giving away just 17 runs off the 3.1 overs. Royal Challengers Bangalore swept a win over Mumbai Indians with an easy but big 54-run margin.

Glenn Maxwell’s fifty and the crucial wickets gave him the Player of the Match award. But Patel’s effort was important in the win as well, as MI’s batting order collapsed completely at 111 chasing a target of 166. Patel is now the third RBC bowler to post a hat trick after Praveen Kumar and Samuel Badree. He first dismissed Pandya, then Pollard, and finally Rahul Chahar who went off with a golden duck.
