Perth Scorchers maintain their position at the top of the Big Bash table as they triumphed against Melbourne Renegades in the thrilling match at Marvel Stadium with 21 runs. Mitch Marsh kept Scorchers undefeated in the league with his extraordinary effort with 86 off 53 balls and Laurie Evans later added more points on the table to set up a Herculean score of 5/206 which is the second-highest ever score at the venue.
Renegades threatened to topple Scorchers with a fiery display by Aaron Finch and Nic Maddinson who put up a 130-run partnership until Marsh dismissed Maddison and Finch followed suit soon after, leaving the game in the hands of middle-order who could not keep the momentum going and fell short of 21 runs in the end.
