Chelsea has a £35m target in mind

Chelsea is looking at Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters with the aim to bolster the squad. The right-sided defender if joined the squad would have to compete with Reece James. The club recently added the 18-year-old Carney Chukwuemeka to the squad in a £20m deal with Aston Villa. The England U19 international would undergo medical before joining Chelsea officially. Thomas Tuchel is still on the lookout for more defensive options this offseason as the plan is to add more depth to the squad. Internazionale’s Denzel Dumfries is also on the target list while his clubmate Cesare Casadei who is yet to feature in the first team is being considered as well. Chelsea has made two bids already.

In the attempt to solidify the central defence, Kalidou Koulibaly is already brought in but Leicester centre-back Wesley Fofana along with Brighton defender Marc Cucurella and Walker-Peters are being evaluated for the role. Walker-Peters has established himself as an important part of Southampton and the club might not let him go for less than £40m with Man United also in the picture.
