Inter beat Venezia to go 5 points clear 2-1

Inter Milan overcame virus-hit Venezia 2-1 , moving five points clear at the top of Serie A. Edin Dzeko scored a last-gasp victory. Deko had not scored since the beginning of December. In the first half, Nicol Barella had canceled out Thomas Henry's shock opener for Venezia. Venezia stayed two points clear of relegation.

In the 19th minute, Ethan Ampadu whipped in a wonderful cross to the back post, which Henry headed in off the underside of the crossbar. Inter had to wait until five minutes before halftime to equalize due to Venezia's strong defense. Visiting goalkeeper Luca Lezzerini saved Ivan Perii's close-range shot excellently, but Barella slid in to score the rebound. Venezia was enraged because it believed Inter attacker Deko had fouled Marco Modolo in the buildup, resulting in the defender receiving a black eye, but the goal was granted following a VAR check.
