West Ham stands a chance to bring on Armstrong for just £12m

West Ham are in a strong position to negotiate a £12m deal with Blackburn Rovers for striker Adam Armstrong this summer. Noel Whelan, former Leeds striker has confirmed the news as well, Blackburn has valued Armstrong at £25million and West Ham and Fulham were in the race to bring the player home but Armstrong was overly ambitious with the pricy tag on the 24-year-old who has just a year left on his contract at Ewood Park.

But Whelan insists that West Ham can make the deal happen with just £12m that is more than £10million less than what Rovers are demanding. He feels there is a lot of area for negotiation on the deal and West Ham should make the move cautiously. Granted that Armstrong is a key player in their arsenal with 29 goals in 43 appearances but with just one year left in the contract, £25million is a big stretch when half of his 58 career Championship goals came in this season.
